Question about the unlock packs - Guild Wars Forums

Hi

Are the skill unlock packs worth getting. If so should I get them all.

Also are the skills available from level 1 or at higher levels.

As you probably can tell I'm fairly new to the game.

Not sure if this will answer your question, but:

The unlock packs only really help with PvP. They also make the skills available at the skill trainer (Normally some skills aren't available at earlier skill trainers), but you still have to buy them on a PvE character.

The only one worth getting is the BMP (Bonus Mission Pack)
You can just do regular play and pvp to unlock the skills.
Just do PvE to unlock the upgrades.
Also, getting a few wins can unlock all the PvP areas.

These packs are only good for PvP.

It is worth getting the skill pack if you like playing with Heros. Your heros will have access to all skills including Elites at the early stage. You can also equip with an elite skill at the early stage if your new char can get hold of an Elite skill tomb from other chars or other players.

I would call it a waste of RL money, unless you are going heavily into PvP.

You being lvl 1 shows that you are playing PvE, where I find it is more fun to hunt the skills down rather than have them all available.

Also, if you buy the pack, you will still need to spend gold to buy tomes so that your PvE character can use them.

It's still not that great an idea. Getting all useful upgrade/skill/hero unlocks can be completed through playing PvE, and other specific needs can be achieved through casual PvP.
